YAH MAM ABHIJANTI means !!

YAH MAM ABHIJANTI means ‘the ones who knows Me clearly.’ At birth, one is pure. Over time, karma produces modifications in the mind as man is beset with prejudices, thoughts and becomes egoistic. He modifies his mind and accommodates attitudes such as ‘I do, I desire, I enjoy’ etc. The jiva superimposes the notion of doership upon Atma and then man deems that the Self is doing all the actions. Onc
e there is sense of doership or kartrtva, bhoktrtva or enjoyership partners it like a sticky commodity.

In that case why did Sri Krishna do karma – nam me karmaphale sprha? With reference to the result of action, there was no longing, no craving, no want, whatsoever in Him – na me karmaphale sprha. Thus He did not look upon Himself as one the beneficiary of karma. The Lord is free from egoism. He is therefore untainted by actions. It is desire when one seeks a thing not one’s own. The Lord has everything contained in Him and transcends them all too. Therefore He has nothing to desire.

‘Yah mam abhijanti’ are those who are aware that Sri Krishna’s actions do not effect Him; neither does he crave for desires not its fruits; he is not bound by those actions. ‘Badhyate’ means is bound or become entangled and ‘sa karmabhih na badhyate’ means ‘He is not bound by actions.’ The spiritual aspirant who comes to know of this glory of the Lord would like to be himself untainted by egoism and free from desire. Emulation of the great is the way of spiritual progress. In Gita 4.14, Sri Krishna states “Nor do actions taint Me, nor is the fruit of action desired by Me. He who thus knows Me is not bound by actions.”

Hara Hara Mahadeva.
